ACCESSMOUNT LLC
WINS TECHNICAL INNOVATION AWARD AT LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL 2002
TRADESHOW
SAN FRANCISCO (June
26, 2002) - Lightfair International, at its annual New Product
Showcase & Awards Presentation, awarded the Technical Innovation
Award to Accessmount LLC today. The Technical
Innovation Award recognizes the product that represents the
best leap forward in lighting technology excellence, and was presented
by the President of the International Association of Lighting
Designers, on behalf of the judges for the New Product Showcase.
"The Accessmount
Removable Fixture Mounting System* is terrific new idea for the
lighting industry and can truly improve fixtures relamping process,"
said André Tammes, President, International Association
of Lighting Designers "The concept for the Accessmount system
is innovative and its technology is uncomplicated which should
give it wide acceptance in the market."
"Accessmount LLC
is delighted to receive this recognition from Lightfair International
and to win the 2002 Technical Innovation Award," said Nelson
Pitlor, president and inventor of the Accessmount removable
fixture mounting system. "Today's building maintenance personnel
need to relamp fixtures safely and quickly. By removing the ladder
from the relamping equation, the Accessmount Removable Fixture
Mounting System increases productivity and helps keep maintenance
workers injury free."
Accessmount LLC's Removable
Fixture Mounting System is a new concept in fixture removability.
It significantly reduces the potential for fall injuries by eliminating
the need for ladders, and increases the likelihood of safety lighting
maintenance by reducing the time and effort required. A specially
designed pole-mountable removal tool is used to couple and de-couple
the system while the user stands firmly on the floor.
The Accessmount
System consists of a two-piece set of disks, with one permanently
attached and wired to the overhead J-box and the other wired to
the light fixture. When coupled, electrical current flows through
the disks and supplies power to the fixture.
Fixture maintenance in high-traffic or access-sensitive areas
can be completed quickly. Additionally, it increases building
maintenance personnel productivity as the time required to mount,
remove and relamp hard-to-reach fixtures is sharply reduced.
The ideal location
for a stairway light is directly over the steps, where it will
cast the maximum amount of light while generating the fewest shadows.
This location is also the most difficult for installation and
maintenance because there is no flat surface available on which
to place a ladder. A fall from the ladder to the ground during
maintenance might be less than six feet, but falling down the
flight of stairs could add an additional 10-12 feet to the fall.
The combination of
reduced risk from ladder falls and the increased productivity
of building maintenance personnel will generate significant savings
to building operating budgets and the Removable Fixture Mount
System can pay for itself.
