Locations

Where does your mount work?
Anywhere where you have a problem using a ladder. Even if a ladder works, it can be a time-consuming, mess-making ordeal. Why not bring the fixture down to you?
Think-
Stairways
Busy Hallways
Over displays
Over desks
It also works where you might want to switch fixtures frequently… Switch a pendant fixture for a flush mount when the pendant would be in the way.

What about rough, vandal-prone areas? How easy it to steal a fixture?
The key to dealing with vandalism is to make the repair work quick and easy. Any fixture can be damaged… With the Accessmount™ System, the damaged fixture can be replaced in seconds… Without a ladder, rewiring, or even turning off the circuit! The same goes for a stolen fixture. The base mount remains attached in the ceiling, protecting against exposed wires. Simply "pop up" a new fixture.

What about outdoors?
Our current mount is rated for dry, indoor locations only. We should have a wet location rated mount available soon.

Fixture Types

Do you make any fixtures other than the ones I see on your web site?
Our fixture catalog is small but expanding. Please keep in mind that our retrofitted mount will convert many standard, existing fixtures into "Ladderless(TM)" Fixtures.

What types of fixtures will your mount retrofit?
Any fixture up to 14" in diameter that mounts to a standard junction box should work. There is a ten pound weight limit, and an electrical load limit of 120 volt, 450 watts. A 277-volt version is coming soon - Contact us for more information.

Can I use an outdoor fixture with your mount?
Our mounting system is rated for dry, indoor use only. While you can use an outdoor fixture, it must only be installed inside.

I have a big chandelier in my foyer that I want to use… Will your mount work?
Probably not… You don't want to have a heavy chandelier attached to the end of a long pole that you are holding! There are power-winch lowering systems available for those applications.

Are there any light fixture manufacturers who make fixtures with your mount already installed?
We are working with several manufacturers to do just this. If you work with one in particular, let them know you want them to make the Accessmount™ System available with their fixtures.

Will your mount work with square or rectangular fixtures?
Yes it will, but the adaptor plates available right now are round. This will give you a look of a round pedestal with a rectangular fixture mounted to it. In certain applications (utility lights, etc) this should be an acceptable look.

Installation

On how high a ceiling will this work? How long is the pole?
We don't make poles; our removal tool screws on to most broom sticks and paint sticks. We don't suggest you use the mount at a height higher than 20 to 25 feet, and then only with a smaller, lighter fixture (less than 5 pounds). The system is easiest to use when the ceiling height is less than 15 feet.

How easy is the system to install?
The base mount (which installs to the ceiling) should be as easy as (if not easier than) any basic light fixture to install. It's smaller and lighter than a fixture, which makes it a breeze to mount. The fixture mount (which installs to the light fixture) is held in place with two screws. Simply wire it up, screw it on, and you're done! If you have any problems, please contact us.

Is your mount UL Listed?
It is both UL and CUL listed.

Are the adaptor plates available in colors?
We chose to start with white, as that will match most ceilings. If you have a specific color requirement, please contact us for more options.

How It Works

Is it just magnets holding the fixture up?
No, there is a set of clips that retract when the tool is inserted. The magnets are there to hold the mount together so you can either insert or remove the tool.

Smoke Detectors

Can I use your mount with my smoke detectors?
Our mount is not certified for use with anything other than a light fixture. Contact your local detector supplier to let them know that you want a smoke detector mount!
